Level Design - Source 1 / Source 2

I make levels for the Source Engines. Most of my work is for gmod or s&box. I make the whole map start to finish, including any custom materials, sounds, or entities. Generally, levels fall under 3 main categories.

Singleplayer/Co-op campaigns

I can make singleplayer/co-op campaigns. This can be single maps or a group of continuous levels. Examples include Half-Life: Alyx maps, Left 4 Dead, CS:GO co-op missions, or gamemodes like zombie escape. I start with a very quick blockout then playtest the map. Lots of playtesting means better map. Detailing only comes after most of the gameplay has refined.

Multiplayer Maps

These are maps meant to be played over and over again. Think Deathmatch mode, CSGO/TF2, or gamemodes like TTT or Murder. You’ll see (and play) the map throughout it’s development, starting with a basic blockout to the final art pass.

Roleplay Maps

I can make a huge city for your roleplay server. These are usually very big, so they take a long time and a lot of money to make. Roleplay maps can take anywhere from a few weeks to months to make.

Hot deal - I made a city generator for Source 2. I can use it to create a whole city (with building interiors) very quickly and cheaply. I still create the environment and landscape by hand, but most of the buildings are made automagically. (No, this doesn’t work for gmod.)

Level Design - Other

I can also do level design for other engines like Unity, UE4, or games with custom editors like Rust and Unturned.

Material Art

I can make custom materials for your mod/game. I have experience with PBR (Unity, Source2, UE4) and legacy formats like Source 1.

Sound Design

Sound design. I can make sounds for your game/mod.

Programming

I can code. This can be gmod/s&box addons, games, or something else.

Motion Capture Character Animations

I can record motion capture data for any humanoid characters. This is compatible with any modern game engine.

Mocap is pretty easy to do, so I can sell raw animations for very cheap (free in some cases?) Almost all mocap needs some cleanup though which I can do for more money.

    • An FGD controls what entities appear in hammer.

    • I made the Bootleg Half-Life: Alyx FGD, FGDs for gmod gamemodes, standalone Source Engine games, and have contributed to an official gmod FGD.
